Dario Frare  -  Master of ArtDesigner and creator of

original works, made with the antique technic of the "lamp" known now as lamp-working.

Dario Frare was born in July of 1977 on Murano (Venice), where he actually lives and works in his studio laboratory in Calle Convento No. 34. Inheriting his passion for glass design and technic from his father, Giuliano, also a noted glass master, his first appraiser and still his collaborator.

Already at a tender (young) age, as is our healthy tradition, he began to gain confidence and experiment with glass, almost as a joke, the possibility of this fascinating material capable of giving rise to infinite forms forged in a miriade of shapes. At the Art Institute of Venice, he specialized in the Glass Sector, where, thanks to his innate artistic capacity, he became an art master. During his course into artistic maturity, his innate talent and love for design rouse in him always more creative stimulous. This later translates in the realization of his works and objects in glass, really innovative, inasmuch as an idea and an executed technic. The good paternal DNA also transmits to Dario an interest in the lagoon and fishing. With this comes also the strong desire for continuous contact with nature, with our bogs, and with the charming lagoon landscapes of multiple colors, all to be lived through the alternating of the seasons. And like this, peace and meditation overcome him in the sleepless nights in the water between entangled mazes and little canals, between emersed buckets, dykes and cane fields, inspiring young Dario to a work of ongoing elaboration which by now has changed into pure passion. His great manual ability intensifies through a restless interior force, allowing him to mould glass in the flame according to his whim and will to scrupulously make objects of exquisite workmanship, evermore valued and sought out, whether on the island or abroad. Today Dario is sought out and esteemed w hether as an optimal glass master, or as an honest artisan for which he's distinguished not only in the precision of his work, but also for his human qualities. Thanks to his mastery, he gives life to an ample selection of almost real animals: live in colors, in movement, and in behaviour, like only an attentive nature lover in his soul could later assimilate and express with documented coherence. In recent years, other than beastiary now also engraved, he has enriched his works with collections truly unique, composed of minature minutely refined in the details. To his works have been added subjects of African tribes, composed of the Masai warriors, Samurai, various types of warriors and many others which will abundantly come and which will put him at the prime spot in the contemporary market of lamp working. Lately he has started a collaboraton with glass and cold-working masters on the island, of whom one is Master Engraver, Luigi Camozzo with whom he found a way to consolidate his already beautiful art, to render it even more unique and immortal, thanks to the traditional techniques of engraving and decoration. Until 2006, he contributed to the creation of works by the French artist, Aristide Najean. Today his professional maturity united with his skill in creating forms in glass harmoniously colored, makes him one of the emerging artists more visible in the actual panorama of glass workers, directing him towards a careful selection of art galleries. These allow him to insert and exhibit his works inside an artistic context of consolidated seriousness which is that of glass collection.
